In order to breed new ramie variety of good quality and high yield , further improve the rude yield , fibrous quality of new planted ramie, with main ramie varieties in Hunan, Xiangzhu No3,Tris-l,Tris-2,Zhonhgzhu No 1 as the check varieties, the paper has carried on the comprehensive analysis of the growths of root, stem and leaf, photosynthesis characteristic, rude yield and fibrous quality of new ramie of new variety R057. The main results are as follows:(1) The new strain R057 subterranean stem growth superiority is obvious, its main item root and the shoulder pole root obviously are more than the check variety; Root system's volume, the radish root quantity and coarseness also have the superiority. Thus it can be seen its underground partial growths exuberant, root system developed, vigor and the accumulation nutrition ingredient are abundant.(2) In the new strain R057, the population density of 28/m~2 is higher than that of check verities, as well as leaf area coefficient of 11.99 and the total chlorophyll content of leaf blade in the fore and intermediate stages, which indicates that the new strain R057 has strong photosynthesis and exuberant division strength.(3) In new strain R057,the dry material accumulated is the most in the intermediate stage, but slightly less than that of Tris-l and Tris-2 in the earlier and later period. Among the nutritive elements, the potassium absorbed are most, the nitrogen and the phosphorus is only slightly less than that in Tris-1.(4) The new variety R057 has the highest output which differs significantly from the check varieties. New variety R057 ranks second behind Tris-2 in fibrous quality.
