Study On The Effect Of Organic Mulching On Blueberry

The mulching experiment was carried out in blueberry orchard. The effect of soil mulching ( peatmoss , sawdust , moss , maize stalk ,straw)on the change of soil temperature, quantity of microbe, soil nutrient, plant growth, leaf photosynthesis, fruit quality, fruit yield, root activity and mycorrhizal infection were studies. The result showed that mulching had the greatest influence on plant growth. That can increased soil matter content and decreased soil pH. The effect of apparently decreased soil temperature change in day and night. Smooth the change of soil temperature. The soil layer affected apparently by mulching were 0～15 cm. Mulching significantly increased the soil moisture in blueberry orchard, the water storage, the water conservation,which prompted the growth of roots and the absorption of soil nutrient, soil water and increased mycorrhizal infection, plant growth.Mulching increased the content of soil organic matter, available N, available P, especially available K in 0～20 cm soil layer. The study on soil microbe showed that mulching increased the quantity of soil microbe and activity of soil microbe. As compared to ck, mulching apparently increased the quantity of actionmyces, ammoniation bacteria, fugi in 0～20 cm..Mulching improved the situation of blueberry and increased the leaf water potential and decreased POD activity of leaves, MDA activity of leaves, fusibility total sugar in leaves. Showed that blueberry leaves metabolize greater activity. It moreover, improved the content of chlorophyll, thus improved photosynthesis of blueberry leaf, promped the growth and development of blueberry. Under different treatments,diumal change of photosynthetic rate was double peak curve. But the net photosynthetic rate of mulching treatment had higher than ck.Mulching excised a significant influence on root activity and mycorrhizal infection of blueberry. And decreased POD activity of roots, improved the growth of root and the activity of root.Mulching promped the growth and development of blueberry fruit, increased the weight of 100 berries and the yield of bush, improved the ratio of sugar to acid, changed the flavor of blueberry and improved the quality of fruit. It moreover, mulching advanced the blueberry maturation period. The results had coincide to previous. Mulching improved the soil environment of blueberry and then increased the growth of blueberry for the foundation of premature ripening. Thus mulching raised the economic returns.
