Objective:To discuss the therapeutic effect of motomycin-C and high-frequencyelectrolacryocrystoplasty combining with lacrimal drainage tube implantation in thetreatment of naso-lacrimal duct0bstruction.Methods,67cases(81eyes)with naso-lacrimal duct obstruction were randomlydivided into two groups treatment group and control group In treatment group,34cases(41eyes)were accepted high-frequency electrolacryocrystoplasty,and1m Imitomycin-C0.4mg/ml was injected into lacrimal duct for five minutes then washedwith09%NS quickly and putted lacrimal drainage tube trough the new lacrimalpassage Lacrimal drainage tubes were removed after3months Control group of33cases(40eyes)were done the same operate, but were not injected.mitomycin-C It was regularly flushed the lacrimal passage aF(er removed tubesFollowing up6months,the therapeutic effects were compared among the groupsResults:Following up3months,in treatment group of34cases(41eyes),systems were completely resolved in37eyes,and the cure rate was927%:Incontrol group of33cases(40eyes),70%of cases were recovered Follow up6months The cure rate of treatment group was902%but65%of control groupwere recovered The cure rate in treatment group was higher than that in controlgroup The difference between two groups was significant(p<O05).Conclusion l high-frequency electrolacryocrystoplasty combining with lacrimaldrainage tube implantation is a safe and an effective technique for naso-lacrimalduct obstruction, because of its less invasive nature and complications It mayserve as an alterative method for the treatment of naso-lacrimal du cl Obstruction ltcan remarkably improve the cure rate applying mitomycin-C during surgery Thismethod of surgery should be generalized in clinic.
