Immediate Placement Of Artificial Indomethacin With Indomethacin Immobilized Intrauterine Device (Gini To The United States) And Active γ - Type IUD Clinical Observation

Objectives:To compare the effectiveness of Medicated γ IUD and Medicated GeneFix inserted immediately after abortion. Methods:During March2012to January2013, a multicenter clinical trail was performed in5collaboration centers from4provinces. In Total,880women were randomly allocated to Medicated ylUD group or Medicated GeneFix group immediately after abortion.The880abortion women would accept follow-ups at1th,3th,6th and12th month.At the same period,460abortion women who had not used IUD or steroids contraceptive methods were chosen (Control group) and would accept follow-ups at1th and3th month. All women were required to record the number of vaginal bleeding days and blood volume of vaginal bleeding within3months after abortion.When women were returned to collaboration centers for fllow-up, providers would check the vaginal discharge, tail and so on.We used LTA2.0and MDS software that WHO developed to evaluate clinical effect of IUD and the Menstrual bleeding patterns of IUD insertion after abortion. Results:At the3th month,the results of LTA showed that the removal rate for medical reason of Medicated GeneFix is higher than that of Medicated γ IUD (P<0.05).But when followed up at12th months,two kinds of IUD had no significant difference in the rate of pregnancy with IUD in situ and expulsion rate and removal rate for medical reason (P>0.05).The bleeding and/or spotting days extended by3.9and2.6days in Medicated GeneFix group and Medicated γlUD group respectively. Especially the spotting days prolonged significantly. Comparing the bleeding/spotting days in Medicated GeneFix group and that of Medicated γ IUD group,as well as in insertion group and Control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Respectively,2.9%of women in Medicated GeneFix group and0.9%of women in Medicated y IUD group complained menorrhagia.The difference had statistical significance (P<0.05). Irregular bleeding incidence of Medicated GeneFix was43%, and that of Medicated γ IUD group was47.7%, and the Control group was55.1%.The difference between the Medicated GeneFix group and the Control group was statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusions:Although the results of MDS showed that bleeding/spotting days increased after the insertion of Medicated γ IUD and Medicated GeneFix,while abortion women in Medicated GeneFix group complained menorrhagia, the removal rate for medical reasons of two kinds of IUD were not high. At12th month, the difference between this two kinds of IUD in the IUD-related termination rate had no statistical difference. So we can conclude that the insertion of Medicated GeneFix and Medicated γ IUD immediately after abortion is safe, feasible and effective.
