Objective:Through collecting the epidemic information and the syndromes of TCM(Traditional Chinese Medicine)in patients with GERD(Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease), the research aims to, by statistical means, summarize the regularity of syndrome distribution and analyze the correlation of syndrome distribution and gender, age, infection of HP, and provide the basis for both further scientific research and clinical treatment. Methods:Designed the questionnaire including epidemiological information and the TCM symptom-sign of GERD. The data of patients’symptoms and signs are got through four diagnostic methods and data base is established by applying epidemiologic methods. Find out the relative factors of GERD by using descriptive statics and variance analysis methods and the distribution of TCM syndrome types by factor analysis and cluster analysis methods. Results:The research gathered 253 cases including 109 male(43.08%) and 144 female(56.92%).The youngest was 19 years old, the oldest was 70 years old, the mean age 50.47+11.76 years; NERD in 96 cases (37.94%), RE in 138 cases (54.55%),19 cases of BE (7.51%); the middle age group had the highest rate (48.22%). The syndrome distribution type classified as type three, type of cold and heat syndrome (35.17%), type of disharmony of liver qi and spleen-stomach syndrome (24.11%), type of stagnation of liver and stomach heat syndrome (40.71%).Conclusion:The research through the statistics obtained certificate type GERD for the kind of cold and heat syndrome, liver spleen and stomach disharmony syndrome, type of stagnation of liver and stomach heat syndrome three types. The distribution of cold and heat syndrome to type the most common, followed by liver spleen stomach disharmony syndrome and type of stagnation of liver and stomach heat syndrome. There is a certain relationship between distribution and age, GERD class type of syndrome of TCM, has nothing to do with Helicobacter pylori infection.
