Objective:To explore the efficacy of liuwei dihuang wan on expression of JNK and P38signaling pathway of the intervertebral disc in injury rabbitMETHODS:80New Zealand white female rabbits(6month old) were used, randomly divided into normal group, sham operation group, model group, liuwei dihuang wan group,20rabbits in each group,The model group and the liuwei dihuang wan group refers to the Hu Xujiang’s method to establish animal models of intervertebral disc degeneration, liuwei dihuang wan group was given for liuwei dihuang wan suspension gavage, normal group, sham operation group and model group was given for the same amount NS,one time a day. In the last4hours after intragastric administration,in2weeks,4weeks,6weeks,8weeks the animals were killed in batches, The L4/5and L5/6nucleus pulposus and annulus fibrosus were collected frozen for test.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Reverse transcription-PCR and Western Blot showed that with the culture time prolonging, the expressions of JNK collagen and genes in nucleus pulposus and p38collage and genes in the annulus fibrosus in model group, liuwei dihuang wan group were significantly higher than normal group and sham operation group; the difference was statistics significant (P<0.05), that shows Intervertebral disc degeneration rabbit model has been established; the expressions of JNK collagen and genes in nucleus pulposus and p38collage and genes in the annulus fibrosus in sham operation group are not obvious different with normal group, there is no statistics significance (P>0.05). liuwei dihuang wan group is lower than model group, the difference was statistics significant (P<0.05), The results indicate that Liuwei Dihuang Wan can protect the intervertebral discs through stabilizing the expressions of JNK collagen and genes in nucleus pulposus and p38collage and genes.
