Study On The Correlation Between ABI, PWV And TCM Syndromes Of Coronary Heart Disease

Purpose：To examine and analyze the relationship between ankle brachialindex(ABI) and pulse wave velocity(PWV) and the traditional Chinese medicinesyndrome-type in coronary heart disease(CHD).Studying whether the two indexeshave meanings for TCM syndrome differentiation of coronary heart disease.Methods：Take the case investigation method187cases has been taken in thisinvestigation,there is107patients who had been diagnosed as CHD by coronaryangiography and80healthy cases were taken from Liaoning university oftraditional Chinese medicine from August2012to December2013.Based on theinformation which obtained by four diagnostic methods and atherosclerosisdetector what is an equipment to detect vascular functional index (ABI,PWV) frompatients,analyzing the relationship between characteristic of TCM syndrome–type of different outcome and the results of ABI and PWV by statisticalsoftware.Results:1. According to the statistical reports, type of syndrome of TCM in coronaryheart disease mainly includes phlegm and blood stasis,qi stagnation and bloodstasis,qi deficiency and blood stasis,Qi and Yin deficiency and bloodstasis,stagnation of yin-cold and yang-deficiency.2.There are27cases in CHD group which ABI was abnormal account for25.23%of total number of cases and9cases in healthy controls which account for11.25%of the all healthy people. Through comparing, the ABI abnormal rate of coronaryheart disease group was obviously higher than that of healthy controls, thereforethe ABI abnormal rate has significant correlation with the incidence of coronaryheart disease (CHD). 3.There are76cases in CHD group which PWV was abnormal account for71.03%oftotal number of cases and19cases in healthy controls which account for23.75%of the all healthy people.Through comparing,the PWV abnormal rate of coronaryheart disease group was significantly higher than that of healthycontrols(p<0.05), therefore the PWV abnormal rate has certain correlation withthe incidence of coronary heart disease (CHD).4.Through statistical analysis, we couldn’t think that there are some differentconcerning the ABI abnormal rate among the four types that phlegm and bloodstasis,qi stagnation and blood stasis,qi deficiency and blood stasis,Qi and Yindeficiency and blood stasis (p>0.05).At the same time,we found that the ABIabnormal rate in Qi and Yin deficiency and blood stasis type is significantlyhigher than other three syndrome types for the reason that it may be relatedto the less sample in research.5.By contrast, there are some big different concerning the PWV abnormal rateamong the four types.Comparing with qi stagnation and blood stasis, qi deficiencyand blood stasis and Qi and Yin deficiency and blood stasis have the significantlyhigher PWV abnormal rate(P<0.05).Furthermore,we also found that the PWV abnormalrate in phlegm and blood stasis is higher than qi stagnation and bloodstasis(p>0.05)Conclusion:1.In Liaoning area, the usual TCM syndrome types of coronary heart disease (CHD)in clinic are phlegm and blood stasis type, qi stagnation and blood stasis type,qi deficiency and blood stasis and Qi and Yin deficiency and blood stasistype.However,large samples still to be needed to explore the TCM syndrome typesof CHD at here in future.2.The ankle arm index (ABI) has the active value in early discovery forCHD.Meanwhile,it can provide a reference for Qi and Yin deficiency and blood stasis type patients of CHD.3.The pulse wave velocity (PWV) not only has meaning for discovering of CHD,butalso has close correlation with various TCM syndrome types of CHD.
