In this study, we investigated the chemical constituents of the fruits of Trichosanthes rosthornii Harms and evaluated its affection on the3T3-L1cell proliferation and differentiation. Choosing the3T3-L1cell line as the biological activity test model, observing its proliferation and differentiation in different solvent extraction, using a variety of chromatography methods for the separation and purification of this fruits. The bioassay test suggested that the fruits extract of T. rosthornii Harms did not have significant inhibition on3T3-L1preadipocyte proliferation. However, ethyl acetate (EtOAc) extraction exhibited good differentiation inhibition, with inhibition ratio of58.3%at100100μg/ml. According to different column chromatography, recrystalization and other preparative methods, fifteen compounds were isolated from the EtOAc extract of the fruits of Trichosanthes rosthornii Harms, and their structures were elucidated to be palmitic acid, stigmast-7,22-dien-3α-ol, chrysoeriol, para-hydroxybenzoic acid, isovanillic acid, loliolide, ortho-hydroxybenzoic acid, spinasterol-3-glucoside, aralia cerebroside, soyacerebroside I chrysoeriol-7-O-glucoside, vanillic acid. All the compounds above have been isolated from this plant for the first time. The essential oil of T. rosthornii fruites was injected by static head-space system, and was separated and identified by GC-MS. A total of 52volatility compounds were detected, and the major compounds were organic acid and ester compounds, the richest compounds are pentanal (19.13%) and hexanal (9.95%).
