In recent years, with the improvement of material life level, people pay more and more attention to health quality. Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the world, therefore the cardiovascular disease has been among the gravest diseases with morbidity. Heart disease is mostly caused by organ recession or lesion, so it cannot be cured, and prevention has become the primary method in the confrontation with heart disease. Generally, there are two kinds of electrocardiograph: Routine electrocardiograph and Holter electrocardiograph. Working duration and acquisition precision have been the main differences between them. And they are both the necessary instruments of ECG department. Therefore, the development of a kind of ECG monitor with Routine electrocardiograph and Holter electrocardiograph is of great significance.Routine ECG monitor record ECG signal when subject in static state, it has short collection time, less interference and high precision. Holter ECG monitor need to do continuous monitoring to subjects over 24 hours, so it has high requirements for storage capability, portability and cruising power. In this paper, a 12-lead ECG monitoring device based on MSP430 is presented. It cannot only continuously work more than 24 hours to record dynamic electrocardiogram, also do Routine ECG detection, it can be applyed to community hospitals or personal family. The device uses TI’s ultra-low power MSP430 MCU as control center, and analog-digital converter chip ADS 1298 to collect ECG signal, then show the real-time processed ecg-waveform on OLED screen. When the device is running under Holter ECG function mode, ECG signal data is stored in TF card through serial peripheral interface were reviewed and analyzed on computer. When the device is running in Routine ECG function mode, ECG signal is directly transmitted to the computer, with the upper computer software ecg waveform can be clearly observed and do diagnostic analysis in real-time.The ECG monitoring device which designed in this paper has small volume so that easy to carry. It also has two function mode:Holter ECG and Routine ECG. I think it is of great significance for heart disease treating and contro. it can be used in patients’ families, pharmacies, community hospital and medical service and so on.During the one-month field test at a township hospital in Yangquan city, the ECG waveform is clearly to observed, and the doctor can do diagnostic analysis precisely.
