Epilepsy is a chronic brain dysfunction syndrome caused by many other diseases. Paroxysmal, abrupt and transient brain disorder caused by neural cells'over synchronous discharge through and through is a characteristic of epilepsy. Epilepsy is a normal nerve system disorder disease, which leads to big pain to patients.Excised by surgery is an alternative project for refractory epilepsy. But when the focus is in the function area or the focus can not be located, the new anti-epilepsy method is needed. People try to find many other methods to control or alleviate epilepsy, such as engineering technology includes intervening abnormal brain activity by electronic stimulation or magnetic stimulation. This study provided a new method for studying the electronic stimulation to suppress epilepsy.Intracranial electronic stimulation has great potential to treat epilepsy. There are two problems to be solved: best stimulating parameter and stimulated location.This task designed a multi-parameter electronic stimulator based on MSP430 micro control unit and compared the performance of stimulator when using different parameters. We designed the hardware system of the stimulator and study the performance of stimulator.Completed the works as followed:1. Designed electronic stimulator based on MSP430F1611 micro control unit of TI. Stimulating waveform, frequency, pulse width and intensity can be set by control program in PC.2. Wrote program to generate stimulation based on C Language and MSP430 repertoire. Designed software supporting the hardware system.3. Researched on the different effects of suppressing epilepsy by using different stimulating parameters. We found that for the test group which was given 1Hz and 100Hz square pluses, rats'seizure number and its duration induced by FeCl3 decreased.Innovations in this study as followed:1. Designed the hardware and software of the multi-parameter electronic stimulator based on MSP430 micro control unit.2. The stimulator is triggered automatically by PC. This is a basic work for predicting abnormal EEG signal in preictal and realizing automatically trigger the stimulator.3. The stimulator is a multi-parameter system. This is a basic work for comparing effects of different suppressing caused by different stimulating parameters.
