Thyroid cancer is a common kind of endocrine neoplasms clinically. Theidentioncation between benign and malignant thyroid carcinoma is alwaysdifficidt,especially thyroid follicular carcinoma and thyroid follicularadenoma, which has always been a major clinical pathologist of difficult problems. The diagnosis of thyroid follicular carcinoma needs certain coated and(or) vascular invasion, which requires pathological dodors ahemately slice and plus,because the psuedocapsule and false vascular invasion created during embedding or infringing,to bring a lot of inconvenienceS100A4 is a member of the SI 00 family of calcium-binding proteins that is directly involved in tumor metast;asis. This report reviews the animal and cellular stiudies implicating SI00A4 in the esbblishment of l;he metastatic phenotype. SI00A4 is highly expressed in embryonic macrophages, as well as in differentiating mesenchymal tissues. S100A4 expression is also observed in metastatic cancers. Immunohistochemical analyses of humancancers shows significant S100A4 expression in breast, pancreatic, prostate,gallbladder, esophageal, gastric, lung, and thyroid carcinomas. In these cancers S100A4 expression is found at elevated levels compared with normal tissue. DNA mismatch repair(MMR) is a type of DNA repair that corrects single base mismatches and small insertion and deletion loops at occur during normal DNA replication. hMLHl is an important index of tumor biological behaviors, especially in the thyroid follicular tumour, twomolecules for discussion of thyroid follicular cancer diagnosis and differential diagnosis meaning, 1;his research examined SI00A4 and hMLHl protein expression in thyroid follicular adenoma and thyroid follicularcarcinoma.The positive rates for S100A4 in follicular thyroid adenoma(FTA) and fbllicular thyroid carcinoma(FTC) were 24.44%(11/45)and 70%(21/30)respectively, it has significant statistical difference between (P<0.05).The positive expression rates of hMLHl protein are 77.78%(35/45) and20%(6/30). There was significant difference between 也em( P<0.05).S100A4 and hMLHl may be used as a marker for differentiating FTC and FTA.
