Long-term heavy drinking could cause serious mental disorders and bodily injuries, which burden the families and society with the rapid increasing of the amount of patients. Alcohol-induced mental disorders are usually accompanied by other bodily injuries. Among them, the most serious one is the myocardial injury, which often cause the death of patients and other difficulties in psychological treatment. Most of the researchers thought that a considerable part of patients with alcohol-induced myocardial injuries are reversible after stopping drinking or intervention. Therefore, it is necessary to analysis the myocardial injury issues accompanying with alcohol-induced mental disorders and to further obtain the long-term monitoring data by using different kinds of armariums, which are helpful for the early intervention of alcohol-induced mental disorders with myocardial injuries. Objective To understand the influence of alcohol consumption and drinking time to the damage conditions of the myocardial functions, to provide the standard basis for the diagnosis and treatment of the bodily conditions of alcohol-induced mental disorders, and to reduce the accident deaths of alcohol-induced mental disorder patients due to myocardial injuries. Methods Divide the selected 78 alcohol-induced mental disorder inpatients into Group A and B in terms of whether the daily alcohol consumption more than 500 g or not. Or, divide them into Group C and D in terms of whether the drinking age more than 20 years or not. Then, we analysis the heart Doppler ultrasound data of these 4 groups(Group A, B, C and D) of alcohol-induced mental disorder inpatients. Results In Group A with the daily alcohol consumption less than 500 g, there is one patient with abnormal echocardiography in 5 patients, whose abnormal rate is only 20%.In Group B with the daily alcohol consumption more than 500 g, there are 30 patients with abnormal echocardiography in 73 patients, whose abnormal rate is 41.1%.In Group C with the drinking age less than 20 years, there are 2 patients with abnormal echocardiography in 25 patients, whose abnormal rate is only 8%.In Group D with the drinking age more than 20 years, there are 29 patients with abnormal echocardiography in 53 patients, whose abnormal rate is 54.7%.Conclusions 1. The abnormal rates of echocardiography are higher for the cases of patients with both more daily alcohol consumption and longer drinking age.2. The influence by drinking age is more serious than that of daily alcohol consumption.3. There are individual differences, that is, no injury individuals even for the patient with heavy drinking while serious injury for the patient with little drinking.
