The objective of this trial was to study the effect of exogenous anti-oxidant on the lipid peroxdation, antioxidant enzyme, the apperant redox pontential of serum and tissue, and the performance of broiler. The current research provided the theory support for decreasing the oxidative stress, and improving the health of animal in livestock and poultry production.210 one-day-old healthy broilers were divided into 7 traetment groups,5 replicates with 6 broilers in each treatment, and were raised in ground column. The diets of the groups were:(1) control group, basal diet; (2) treatment 1, basal diet+50mg/kg amicula VC; (3) treatment 2, basal diet+100mg/kg amicula VC; (4) treatment 3, basal diet+200mg/kg amicula VC; (5) treatment 4, basal diet+50mg/kg VC-phosphate ester; (6) treatment 5, basal diet+100mg/kg VC- phosphate ester; (6) treatment 6, basal diet+200mg/kg VC-phosphate ester. During the experimental stage, the broiler chickens could eat and drink freely. We recorded the body weight of each replicate at the initiaite day, every weekend and the day of the terminate day. And the average daily feed intake (ADFI), average daily gain (ADG) and the proportion of feed and gain (F/G) of the prophase and the anaphase were recorded and calculated. On the last day of fourth week and seventh week, chose two broilers from each replicate randomly, culled the blood from jugular vein and abataged, collected the samples to study the effect of on the lipid peroxdation, antioxidant enzyme, the apperant redox potential of blood serum and tissue, and the performance of broiler. Besides, we also determined the redox potential of feedstuff. The results showed as follows:Redox status:in the control group, the redox potential in serum was 176.30mV, and the dsitrubution range of redox potential in other tissue was 43.37mV~255.63mV, the bursas of Fabricius was 255.63mV, which was the highest; the musculi thoracis's was 43.37mV, which was the lowest. The supplement of exogenous antioxidant affected the redox state of animal, the apperant redox-potential of the serum, liver, heart, bursa of Fabricius and musculi thoracis was decreased; but the apperant redox-potential of kidney was increased, but there was no regularity change on the apperant redox-potential of spleen and thoracic gland. The supplement of exogenous antioxidant changed the antioxidative capability, the MDA of amicula VC group was decreased, and the activity of SOD and GSH-Px was increased, the activity of SOD and GSH-Px in treatment 1,2 was significantly increased on the 28th day. The MDA in serum of VC phostate ester was increased, the activity of SOD was decreased, but the activity of GSH-Px was increased. On the 49th day, there was no significant difference about the MDA, SOD, GSH-Px in the VC phostate(P> 0.05).The antioxidative capability of liver was also changed by the supplement of exogenous antioxidant, the MDA in the liver of amicula VC was decreased, and the activity of SOD was increased. The MDA in the treatment 2,3 was significantly decreased on the 28th day; the activity of SOD was significantly increased. The MDA in the VC phosphate ester group was increased, and the same as the SOD on the 49th day. There was dependablity between the redox potential in serum, liver and it's antioxidative. When amicula VC was added into the diet, there was positive correlation between the potential in serum and MDA, SOD, GSH-Px, but there was negative correlation between potential of liver and SOD, the correlation between the potential of liver and MDA was positive. When the VC phosphate ester was added, the correlation between the potential of serum and GSH-Px was negative, but there was positive correlation between the potential of serum and MDA, the correlation of liver and MDA, SOD was negative.Growth performance:the supplement of antioxidant affected the performance of broiler, the ADG in amicula VC group was increased, F/G was decreased, but the VC phosphate group appeared the opposite result, compared to control, there was no significance difference(P>0.05).The slaughter performance and tissue index:Different treatment had no significant effect on the slaughter performance of broiler(P>0.05). At the 28th day, the index of thoracic gland in treatment 1,2,4,5 was significantly increased(P<0.05), the index of bursa of fabricius in treatment 3 and treatment 6 was significantly increased(P<0.05) too. At the 49th day, compared to the control group, the index of thoracic in treatment 2 was significantly increased(P<0.05). The index of liver and spleen was not affected by the supplement of antioxidant.Lactobacilli and bacillus coil in caecum:the lactobacilli were increased, and the bacillus coli were decreased. The redox potential of feedstuff:the distribution range of redox potential in feedstock was 330.5~608.7mV, the redox potential of wheat bran, president bran, and methionine, fish flour, rapeseed meal, aminal acid flour were 608.7mV,546.2,540.7mV, 376.0mV,382.9mV,330.5mV respectively. The distribution range of compounding ingredient 272.3-456.7mV, the premix's was 347.6~435.7mV. The supplement of antioxidant decreased the redox potential of compound feed; the potential of feed was relative with the anti-oxidative index. When the amicula VC was added into the diet, the correlation between the potential of feed and the potential in serum, liver was positive, but there was negative correlation between the potential of feed and SOD, GSH-Px in serum and liver, the correlation between the potential of feed and MDA in serum and liver was positive. When the VC phosphate rster was added, the correlation between the potential of feed and redox potential in serum and liver, the MDA in serum and liver was negative, but there was positive correlation between the redox potential of feed and GSH-Px, SOD in serum and liver. These results suggested that the redox potential of feed was different; the redox potential of diet can be changed by the supplement of antioxidant. The supplement of exogenous antioxidant affected the redox state of animal, the apperant redox-potential of the serum, liver, heart, bursa of Fabricius and musculi thoracis was decreased, but the apperant redox-potential of kidney was increased. It also changed the antioxidative capability in broiler, the MDA in amicula VC groups was decreased, and the activity of SOD and GSH-Px was increased, the MDA in VC-phosphate group was increased, the activity of SOD was increased at the 49th day. There was determinate correlation between the redox potential and the antioxidative index in animal organism. The ADG of amicula VC was raised, F/G was decreased, but the VC phosphate appeared the opposite result. The the lactobacilli were increased, and the bacillus coli were decreased.
