Water is essential to human life and health. Survey of World Health Organization finds that 80% of human diseases are related to quality of drinking water. Drinking contaminated water is very harmful to human health. With the development of agricultural production, different types of pesticides have been used to meet the need for diseases and insect management, which making the pesticide types in environment increasingly complicated and diversified. Through a variety of ways including loss, leaching and evaporation, these pesticides penatrate into water area and pollute sources of drinking water. In view of the serious situation of water pollution, many nations and relevant international organizations put strict limitation on amount of pesticide residues in drinking water and with the increasing rigor of domestic and foreign standards, research on multi-pesticide residues detection technology in drinking water is particularly important. This paper, based on previous studies, established a method to detect 406 kinds of pesticides and related chemicals in drinking water using liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry .The major findings are as follows:1. Building the simple, effective sample pretreatments for the determination of 406 pesticides in drinking water . The pesticide residues were extracted from the samples by acetonitrile containing 1% acetate acid, cleaned-up by a Sep-Pak Vac cartridge, eluted with 25 mL acetonitrile-toluene (V:V=3:1) and concentrated with a rotary evaporator. The sample was redissolved in the acetonitrile-water (V:V=3:2),then analyzed 379 pesticides and 27 pesticides respectively using LC-MS/MS with positive and negative ionization mode.2. Optimize HPLC conditions and chose ZORBAX SB- C18 column, using multiple reaction monitoring mode optimize retention time, fragmentate and collision energy for 406 kinds of pesticides and related chemicals, establishing 406 pesticides and related chemicals in mass library.3. In this research, we established the LC-MS/MS detection method for 406 pesticides. The method showed a good linear relationship with 95.1 % correlation coefficient≥0.99.The limits of detection and the limits of quantification were 0.01μg / L~126.59μg / L and 0.02μg / L~253.18μg /L, respectively.Took the precision and accuracy methodology test and got satisfied conclusion. The average recovery was conducted at two spiked levels which is the LOQ concentration and 4 times of LOQ concentration, the validation results were as follows: the overall recoveries were from 57.83 %~120.55 % with the relative standard deviations of 0.05 %~28.65 %.4. The established method is fast, simple and efficient, suitable for drinking water in 406 kinds of pesticides and related chemical residues testing requirements.
