This paper takes a research about Dalian area which is located in the south of Liaodong Peninsula. In accordance with the natural characteristics and comprehensive effects of human activities and universal soil loss equation USLE model it is calculated to the soil erosion intensity. Furthermore, according to the standards of classification of soil erosion (SL190-2007) published by ministry of water resources, soil erosion of Dalian city can be divided into four degrees: slight erosion. average erosion. medium degree. serious degree. This paper evaluated the soil erosion and space diversity objectively by using the spatial analysis of GLS function and has inclusions an following:(1)Dalian has a number of soil erosion kilometers of grid of ten thousand. And the soil erosion has a area of 13,200.8km2 which covers 91.9% of the total area.(2)The average soil erosion modulus of Dalian is 892.82 t/km~2·a and the average soil erosion amount is 1,178.59×104 t. So the soil erosion intensity is light.(3) The tiny eroded area was 5,320.53km~2 and the rate was 40.30% in Dalian, mainly in the south of Zhuanghe and Wafangdian; the light eroded area was7,146.79 km~2 and the rate was 54.14%, mainly in the most of Zhuanghe, Wafangdian, Pulandian and Jinzhou; the rate of moderate eroded area was725.70 km2and the rate was 5.50%, mainly in the north of Zhuanghe and Wafangdian, and the middle of Changhai county; the serious eroded area was7.76 km~2 and the rate was 0.06%, which was mainly in the north of Zhuanghe.In a word, the assessment results of soil erosion and the spatial difference show that the serious soil erosion area in Dalian is mainly located in northern and central rocky mountain region. And this area is the ecological barrier of Dalian city which has many important ecological functions, such as holding soil. conserving water. water source protection. Measures should be taken to limit the destructive activities and protect the region ecological environment.
