Effect Of Inorganic Salt Solution Priming On Seed Vigor And Seedling Resistance Of Turfgrass Seeds

Four turfgrass seeds were used as materials in the experiment, which were Triplet, Fire Phoenix, Caddie, Gulf. KNO3,CaCl2,K2HP04 were used as initiator to treat the seeds. Each initiator set three concentrations:2%,4% and 8%.Soaking time is five min, moisture time is 12h,24h and 36h. The vigor of processed seeds were tested by seed growth determination,conductivity measurement,accelerated aging test,anti-cold determination and simulation of field emergence test. Then, select a suitable method of initiation by comparing seed vigor. Based on this, determine resistance of seeds, determine enzyme activity,MDA content and chlorophyll content to discuss the effect of salt priming to enzymes activation and physiological and biochemical mechanism.1. Suitable slat priming can enhance the vigor of turfgrass seed, the germination energy,germination percentage,bud length,seedling fresh weight,seedling dry weight,vigor indexes,anti-aging capability,anti-low temperature ability and simulatated field seedling growth have been enhanced remarkable. Suitable density of inorganic salt solution is 2%-4%, moisturizing time is 12-24h. KN03 priming is the best treatment for tall fescue, CaCl2 priming is the best treatment for perennial ryegrass and annual ryegrass.2. Appropriate inorganic salt solution priming can enhance theactiveness of SOD,POD,CAT obviously, can enhance the chlorophyll content obviously and reduce MDA content obviously in the seedling.3. Appropriate inorganic salt solution priming can enhance drought resistance,anti-salinity and acid resisting of the seedling remarkable, under different adversity stress condition, the germination percentage,bud length and seedling fresh weight of initiation processing seed remarkable higher than comparison's, the level of stress is higher, the difference is more obvious.
