Ilex Centrochinensis S. Y. Hu is an Aquifoliaceae holly evergreen trees, beautiful tree, fruit red, long-term residential storage, as well ornamental and urban landscape plants. Ilex Centrochinensis is an important part of evergreen broad-leaved forest. Ilex Centrochinensis is common in Hunan, Shi Men, and Yi Zhang, and Southern Mountain, elevation 300 meters to 800 meters of the mountain broad-leaved forest or forest edge. China's southwest Yunnan, Sichuan, Guizot and other places are also distributed. At present the breeding production of Ilex Centrochinensis cuttings still dominated, but still can not meet the market demand. On the ease of a large number of seedling planting, and tissue culture propagation method has some research, but immature technology, most still at the experimental stage and needs further study. The subject studied in cutting propagation of clone bone structure and properties of Transpiration. The selection and propagation were limited to Changsha and adjacent areas and the conclusions were:(1)Ilex Centrochinensis could be clonally propagated by stem cuttings. The better time to take hardwood cuttings was December, when the stem active growth was slow down and enough carbohydrates were cumulated for overwintering. Softwood cuttings collected in June were also feasible for rooting of Ilex Centrochinensis. March and September of the year should be avoided for collecting stem cuttings.(2) Stem cuttings of Southern Magnolia should be treated with rooting hormones. The highest rooting percentage,79.8%, was obtained under the treatment of K-NAA 1000 mg/L. Both K-IBA and K-NAA could increase rooting rates of Ilex Centrochinensis. However, potassium salts of rooting hormones worked better than other carriers because they could be directly dissolved in the water (not alcohol). The quality of roots followed the same trends as rooting percentages.(3) Light conditions on plant transpiration rate of seedlings significantly affect the transpiration rate in all lighting conditions, semi-shade>full light>full shade, seedlings under various light conditions the transpiration rate broadly consistent with trends. This shows that half of the seedlings shading, can improve the transpiration rate of seedlings, for water, minerals, salts and other nutrients absorbed from the roots to the upper part of the transportation of plants and seedlings can reduce the leaf temperature, to ensure plant strong sunlight in summer can keep a physically fit body temperature, and will not wilt dead. This is to improve the survival rate of seedlings. To ensure the rapid propagation of central holly and scientific training is an important reference and the reference value.
