Genus Ilex is one of the important plant resources that mainly distribute in China.It is used for ornamental,medical and drink.With the potential to be introduced to the north subtropical zone and the south warm temperate zone for its evergreen and low-temperate tolerance. Genus Ilex is an important plant resource which is worth to be developed and ulilized .With beautiful fruit and leaves, it is valuable in landscaping.This research is on the evergreen trees of genus Ilex, studying the propagation techniques of genus Ilex by analysing the effect of out-come hormone on the rooting of the cuttings and the change of the content of POD PPO IAAO in the cuttings with the treatment of hormone; analysing the coorperations between the content of Chh SOD, POD, MDA etc. and the drought-tolerance ability with the treatment of drought;lining out the genus Ilex which can be used in East-China.1 .Different kind of hormone and different concentration both have effect on the rooting of the cuttings,such as the number of the adventitious rooting and the length of the longest adventitious rooting;the effect differs for the difference in the characters of heritage.The low concentration of hormone has plus effect on the rooting of the cutting,while the high has the minus.2. Analysing the content of POD PPO, IAAO of the cuttings of Ilex trees,we found that the content of PPO was higher in the cuttings of easy-rooting while the content of POD and IAAO were higher in the cuttings of hard-rooting,and they changed regularly in the rooting.3. Measuring the content of electric conductivities, Chh SOD, POD, MDA and Pro of 9 Ilex trees with the treatment of drought,we found that the content of electric conductivities SOD and MODA had good coorperations with the drought-tolerance ability. Ilex × altaclarensis 'Belgica Aurea" , I. × meserveae 'Blue Girl' , I.crenata Thunb are better drought-tolerant. I. purpurea Hassk, I . latifolia Thunb are less, I.dabieshanensis K.Yao et M.P.Deng, I.cornuta var.fortunei S.Y.Hu, I.crenata 'Golden Gem' are worse and I.crenata var convexa Makino is the worst...
