Industrial tobacco raw materials should have an aging stage for goog use-value, and aging process often had a long live for up to 2or 3 years. Sichuan-Chongqing area situated subtropical region. The temperature and humidity of Sichuan-Chongqing area was not only good for aging process of tobacco raw material, but also apt to mildewing. Moreover, along with joint, reorganization and tobacco brand expanding of China Tobacco chuanyu Industrial Corporation,the management of tobacco strips lags behind. Therefore, study on the kind of microorganisms what caused tobacco moldy, develope an effective technology, what has an important theory and practical significance.The fungal contamination of tobacco flue-cured strips during storage in Sichuan-Chongqing region was investigated under different storage conditions and different season. The results showed that the he amount of fungal flora in storing tobacco strips was between 800~1500 cfu/g. It is believed the fungal contamination in tobacco trips was very common. The better storage conditions being, the lower the tobacco strips was contaminated. And the fungal contamination was more serious during spring and summer than antumn and winter.Tobacco flue-cured strips mildew caused by fungi during storage were investigated and identified. A total of 21 fungi strains were isolated, and 7 isolates of them which have high detection rate were identified as Rhizopus stolonifer, Aspergillus flavipes, Penicillium citrinum, Aspergillus flavus, Asp.oryzae, Mucor racemosus, Penicillium expansum respectively.They were not only wide distribution but also strong ability to tobacco strips mildewing.Inhibitions of Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) against 6 fungi which causing tobacco mildew during storage in Sichuan-Chongqing were detected. Under the mildewing simulation measured test condition, the results showed that DMF could inhibit mycelial growth and spore germination of the fungi stongly. The DMF 800 mg/kg could prevent tobacco strips from mildewing at 18% moisture content, while the effects weren't good at 25% and 35%. The field experiment achieved perfect mildewing control effect and the using method of DMF was broadcast-application.Preliminary experimentations indicated preventing tobacco trips from mildewing via deoxygenation by sealing achieved good effect and could be regarded as an avaluble method for further study.This study provided a foundation for mildewing controlling in Sichuan-Chongqing region and had theoretical and practical significance.
