Chouioia cunea is a pupal endoparasitoid wasp of fall webworm, Hyphantria cunea. The technique of using Chinese tussah, Antheraea pernyi pupa as a surrogate host to artificially rear C. cunea has been playing an important role in the biological control of the fall webworm since 1997. in this article, the Diapause induction, the Storage Technology, the Nutrition study, ontogeny and RAPD markers in different geographic populations of Chouioia cunea. The results were shown as follows:The developmental duration of C.cunea from different regions were determined by exposing them to different constant temperatures. The results showed that the threshold and effective accumulative temperatures had no significantly difference among different geographic populations. The threshold were 9.26±0.53℃,10.80±0.34℃,10.89±0.60℃,11.48±0.19℃and 12.57±0.89℃for Fushun, Dalian, Shenyang, Yantai and Zhangjiakou, The effective accumulative temperatures were 350.30±14.27 d·℃310.93±7.68 d·℃,305.46±16.57 d·℃,273.51±3.74 d·℃and 246.56±24.23 d·℃, respectively. The effects of temperature and nutrition on the adult longevity of Chouioia cunea were examined in laboratory. The results indicated that adult longevity had significantly difference under different temperature conditions and decreased with the higher temperature; Honeywater can effectively enhance longevity of the adult; The longevity of female was longer than male under the same conditions. The adults have the longest longevity of 27.60 days for female and 9.06 days for male in 18℃with 10%honeywater supply and the shortest longevity of 4.86 days and 1.62 days in 24℃with no food supply.Photoperiod response of diapause induction and the Photo-sensitive stage were investigated in Chouioia cunea Yang. The photoperiodic response curves under 24 h light dark cycles showed that the species is a typical long-day species, entering diapause as mature larvae, the critical photoperiod for diapause induction was estimated to be between 13L:11D and 14L:10D at 18℃, and it was between 12L:12D and 13L :11D under 21℃and 24℃. The later period of larvae is most sensitive stage to photoperiod. However, the short day light received by all larvae stage was also important for the increase of their diapause rate. The developmental duration for post-diapause development of C.cunea were determined by exposing diapause larvae to different constant temperatures (18℃,21℃,24℃and 30℃). The results showed that the Threshold and effective accumulative temperatures for post-diapause development of mature larvae were 14.60±0.31℃and 209.38±8.72 d·℃.The appropriate Period of C.cunea for cold storage were determined. Through analyzing the emergence rate of after cold storage of 3℃for diapause stage, mature larval stage and pupal stage. The results were that the appropriate period for cold storage was the diapause stage, the emergence rate higher than 95% after cold storage for 60 d.The genetic relationship among different geographic populations of Chouioia cunea from 3 provinces (Liaoning, Shandong and Hebei) was detected with RAPD markers. The results indicated that the genetic diversity could be distinguished from the polymorphisms, Six primers amplified 52 bands, and 34 bands were polymorphic bands. The range of genetic distance was from 0.5683-0.8333 and the average was 0.6228 among 4 different geographical populations. The genetic distance was the smallest between Dalian and Yantai, and the genetic distance was the biggest between Zhangjiakou and others.
