Citrus is one of the most important fruit crops in the world. The genus has many important special germplasm resource originated in china and occupies an important position in the world. Citrus belongs to the genus Citrus of the family Rutaceae, having lemon, pummelo, grapefruit, sweet orange, mandarin and other important cultivars. Citrus fruits is not only rich in nutrients, but also contains many bioactive compounds which has nutritional and medicinal values, and the study of bioactive compounds is one of the most active fields of food and medical science. Currently, a lot of researches concerning the extraction, determination and functional activity assay of the flavanone from Citrus have been reported both in china and abroad, but the content and distribution of naringin and hesperidin in the endemic citrus spices of China is lack of systematic research, less is the dynamic change of naringin and hesperidin content during the period of fruit development. Therefore, an analyze the key flavanone componets and their content variations in the endemic citrus germplasm of china can provide, on one hand, information for development and utilization of flavanone;on the other hand, have theoretical and practical significance in future study of the nutrition, medicine and health of citrus fruits. The fruits of thirteen species and their different parts(peel, pulp, seeds, bran and juice) were chosen as the plant materials in this study, The contents of naringin and hesperidin in citrus fruits at different development stages and from different parts were investigated by HPLC. The data obtained were analyzed by Excel and PASS Statistics 17 software. The main results are as follows:1.According to the data obtained, the content of total flavanones is the highest in grapefruit; The content of naringin from high to low in turn is Cephalocilrus>Ichang papeda>Citrophorum, Acrumen, Aurantium, Papeda; the hesperidin content is:Acrumen, Aurantium>Citrophorum, Papeda> Cephalocitrus, Ichang papeda.2.The contents of total flavanones in Cephalocitrus, Ichang papeda, Acrumen, Aurantium and Papeda is higher in the peel and bran than in the pulp, seeds and juice; For mangshan orange, Ichang papeda and grapefruit, the content of naringin in the peel and bran is the highest and followed by pulp, seeds and juice have the least naringin; in Acrumen, Aurantium, Citrophorum and Papeda the content of hesperidin in the peel, bran and pulp is higher than the seeds and juice.3.In the peel and bran, mangshan orange has the highest contents of total flavanones and naringin, and for hesperidin the highest one is macroacrumen;in the pulp, the contents of total flavanones and naringin is highest in mangshan orange and the content of hesperidin is highest in sour orange; the content of total flavanones and naringin in pummelo is highest and the content of hesperidin in tangerine is highest in the seeds;the content of total flavanones and naringin in macroacrumen and the content of hesperidin in citrus hystrix are highest in the juice.4.With the development of citrus fruits, the contents of total flavanones, naringin and hesperidin in the peel, pulp, seeds, bran and juice of four species citrus fruits decrease, thse contents at different period from high to low is:dropping period> intumescentiae period>maturation period.
