Study On Introduction Of 13 Woody Plants And Their Resistance To Drought And Cold In Bayan Obo

Bayan Obo is part of Baotou city,the vegetation form of which is desert steppe.Drought and cold are the restriction factor to the introduction because of the bad climate of Bayan Obo area. Firstly,The surveies of plant resources in drought areas were made to choose some plants having the tolerance of drought and cold.Then introduced some of them to Bayan Obo area,observed their plant growth and phenophase,and studied their drought tolerance and performance under low tempreture stress. The main research results were summarized as follows:1 Twenty-four ornamental plants in desert areas were chosen by the plants resources investigation on the districts of Baotou city and Bayan Obo in Inner Mongolia in 2008.2 Thirteen plants were introduced in 2009 and 2010,they are Xanthoceras sorbifolia,Acer truncatum,Ammopiptanthus mongolicus, Amorpha fruticosa, Nitraria tangutorum,Robinia pseudoacacia,Caragana microphylia, Fraxinus chinensis, Rhus typhina,Berberis diaphana,Sorbaria kirilowii,Tamarix chinensis,Syringa oblata.Study on the phenophase and growth of thirteen plants,the result as follows.Xanthoceras sorbifolia, Acer truncatum, Tamarix chinensis, Caragana microphylia, Caragana microphylia, Berberis diaphana, Sorbaria kirilowii, the overwinter rate of those seven plants are 100 percentage.Rhus typhina, Nitraria tangutorum, Amorpha fruticosa.,the overwinter rate of those three plants are from 50 to 70 percentage.The overwinter rate of Fraxinus chinensis, Ammopiptanthus mongolicus is zero.3 The photosynthetic characteristics of eight introduced plants were studied.The WUE of eight introduced plants in descending order are Robinia pseudoacacia, Caragana microphylia, Sorbaria kirilowii, Fraxinus chinensis,Rhus typhina, Syringa oblata(2009); Xanthoceras sorbifolia,Acer truncatum(2010).4 The drought tolerance of six current seedlings was studied.The ability of drought tolerance in descending order was Syringa oblata, Caragana microphylia, Fraxinus chinensis, Sorbaria kirilowii, Robinia pseudoacacia, Rhus typhina. 5 The performance of seven introduced plants were studied.The cold resistance of seven introduced paints in descending order was Nitraria tangutorum, Rhus typhina, Amorpha fruticosa, Caragana microphylia, Caragana microphylia, Sorbaria kirilowii(root); Tamarix chinensis, Acer truncatum(stern).
