The paper summarized domestic and overseas taxonomic research and practical importance of Pluteus, and mainly worked on the taxonomy and resource investigation of the Pluteus from China.Through examining the macro and micro characteristics of the 234 specimens being deposited in Mycological Herbarium of Microbiology Institute the Chinese Academy of Science (HMAS), Herbarium of Cryptogams, Kunming Institute of Botany Academy of Science (HKAS), Mycological Herbarium of Microbiology Institute Guangdong Academy of Science (GDGM) and Mycological Herbarium of Mycological Institute of Jilin Agriculture University (HMJAU), the author reported 36 species of the genus Pluteus from China in this paper, including 7 new to China and 3 new to Jilin provinces in China, and named two new species from China.7 species are first reported to China, they are Pluteus harrisii Murrill., Pluteus pouzarianus Singer., Pluteus thomsonii (Berk.& Broome) Dennis., Pluteus podospileus Sacc.& Cub., Pluteus hispidulus (Fr.) Gillet., Pluteus pulvinus Berk & Broome., Pluteus admirabilis Peck..3 species are new to Jilin Provinces, they are Pluteus diettrichii Bres., Pluteus luteovirens Rea. and Pluteus ephebeus (Fr.) Gillet..A new species which came from Erdaobaihe of Jilin province are named Pluteus irinus Si Si Yang et Tolor Bau, aother new species which came from Diaoluoshan resort of Hainan province are named Pluteus rotundicorniculatus Si Si Yang et Tolor Bau. In addition, the author held that Pluteus atromarginatus (Konrad) Kuhner. and Pluteus tricuspidatus Velen. were different species because of different between macro- and micro-characteristics. Besides, two species belong to the genus of Pluteus in Erdaobaihe of Jilin province, one species with the characteristics of fractured pileus and edge with radial stripes, and made it temporary as an unknown species—Pluteus spl.; another species with the characteristics of tomentose pileus and cheilocystidia with a long and acute apex or with extended caudate-like, and also made it temporary as an unknown species—Pluteus sp2.; And a species with the characteristics of yellowish-brown pileus and a acute apex or extended needle-like of cystidia in Xinjiang province, belongs to the genus of Pluteus, so made it temporary as an unknown species—Pluteus sp3.In this paper, the morphological descripitions and illustrations of all species were provided in details, with notes on their ecology distribution and a key to sections and species of Pluteus...
