A Taxonomic Study On Mirococcopsiini(Hemiptera:Coccoidea:Pseudococcidae) From China

The tribe Mirococcopsiini belonging to Hemiptera,Coccoidae,Pseudococcidae,Pseudococcinae,was eatablished by Tang in 1992.Currently,there are approximately 33 genera and about 110 species in the world,of which 9 genera and 19 species are known from China.Some species infect the agriculture and forestry plants in this tribe,and classification status of some kinds are confuse.Therefore,the taxonomy study to Chinese Mirococcopsiini is indispensable.This paper is the first systematic study of Mirococcopsiini,begins with an overview of the historical and current studies on mealybugs and introduces the materials and methods.9 genera and 19 species of Mirococcopsiini in China were recorded,including:1 new record genus to China,Volvicoccus Goux,1945;1 new species,Mirococcopsis jiangxiensis Dong&Wu sp.nov.;1 new record species to China,Volvicoccus volvifer(Goux,1945)and build 4 new combination species,Mirococcopsis nyalamiensis(Tang,1987)comb.nov.,Mirococcopsis trilicola(Tang,1987)comb.nov.,Mirococcopsis dingriensis(Tang,1987)comb.nov.,Volvicoccus shanxiensis(Wu,1997)comb.nov..8 species of Mirococcopsiini were described and 18 figures were attached.Keys to genera,species and instar of Mirococcopsiini in China were given.All specimens studied are deposited in the Insect Collection,Beijing Forestry University,China(BFUC).
