Effects Of Green Manure Application On Soil Improvement Of Tobacco Field And Quality Of Flue-Cured Tobacco Leaves

Experiments were conducted to study the effects of green manure application on soil improvement of tobacco field and quality of Flue-cured tobacco in different regions of Xiangcheng,Wuyang,Yexian,Luoshan and Lushi counties of Henan province from 2003 to 2005. The experiments studied the release and mineralization rules of several green manures and their effects on soil improvement of tobacco field and quality of flue-cured tobacco. The results showed that:1.Optical application amount of several green manures and their release and mineralization rules after applicationThe application amount of gramineous green manure was between 4500kg/hm~2 and 37500 kg/hm~2,and that of cole green manure was between 6800kg and 22500kg in several test fields., The application of 15000kg of gramineous green manure and cole green manure before transplanting could omit the application of nitrogen fertilizer 15 kg and 22.5 kg per hm~2.The tobacco plant could grow normally and the quality of tobacco leaves was good by the application of green manure in the test field.The experiment was conducted to study the release and mineralization rules of several green manures with the method of burying manure bag made of filter nylon cloth. The results showed, the decomposability of total carbon and total nitrogen in green manures would be keeping stabilization in 5 or 6 weeks after the application of green manures. So green manures should be applied about 40 days before transplanting,which could avoid non-decomposed green manures burning the tender tobacco seedings.
