The chemical constituents in the root of Actinidia deliciosa were studied and the chemical constituents , bioactivity , medical action , exploitation and use of Actinidia deliciosa genus were reviewed. The chemical constituents in the root of Actinidia deliciosa have been tested systematically by means of tube-test. It was found that the root of Actinidia deliciosa contained phenols, tannins, alkaloids, phytosterols and terpenoids, flavonoids, lactones, conmarins, cardiac glycosides, anthraquinones, saccharides, proteins, organic acids, volatile oils, fats and some other chemical constituents by preliminary study. In the present study, inhibition of four different polar solvent parts against seven phytopathogenic fungi and three bacteria from the ethanol extract of the root of Actinidia deliciosa was studied by growth rate method and filter paper method. The result showed that four extracts had some inhibitory effects against these plant pathogenic fungi, and almost had no inhibitory effects against these bacteria. Petroleum ether parts inhibited Fusarium oxysporium f.sp.uasinfectum at the rate of 80.31%;Chloroform parts inhibited Alternaria longipes, Fusarium oxysporium f.sp.uasinfectum, Fusarium solani at the rate of 78.64%,74.80% and 59.41%;Ethyl acetate parts showed the worst inhibitory effect against these plant pathogenic fungi, the best inhibitory rate was 56.59%;n-butanol parts inhibited Alternaria longipes , Curvularia lunata .Boed , Bipolaris sorokiniana at the rate of 91.53% ,68.96% ,80.46% and 100% .Four compounds were isolated from the root of Actinidia deliciosa by means of solvent extraction, column chromatography and other means. Their chemical structures were identified as ursolic acid (â… ), oleanolic acid (â…¡) and 5-methylnonane(â…£), by the chemical reaction and spectral means(MS,1H-NMR,13C-NMR,IR). All of them were abtained from the Actinidia deliciosa for the first time.
