Remote sensing is more economically and effectual technique then other fire monitors methods. This paper investigated fires in the XinJiang grassland and forest, use EOS/MODIS sensor data, study fires in the XinJiang history. Consult reference papers and the practice of fire monitor personnel work out three kinds of fire monitor method: Bright temperature model, spectrum-VI model, and spectrum-multiple source model. Then use ERDAS'S model-maker program these models and transact the examination data. Based up on these results, we analysis these model characteristic .Balanced these results we found that the spectrum-multiple source model inherited Bright temperature model and spectrum-VI model's method, it has more precision in fire monitor, and it can offer more antefix information like: the land vegetation kinds. It has stronger portability, easy to transplant, modify, servicing and upgrade. The spectrum-multiple source model has more applications and good future.
