Internet-Based Decision Support System For The Management Of Vegetable Insect Pests In Jiangsu Province: Design And Realization

Insect pest is one of the most important factors affecting high performance, good quality and safe production of vegetables. So far, there are many outstanding problems in controlling insect pests of vegetable in Jiangsu Province. Over dependence on pesticides to control pests have resulted in serious problems, such as the ubiquity of improper use of pesticides, fast development of the pests'resistance and high residue in the environment and the products, etc. One of the reasons for these phenomena is negligence of contact among the research institutions, technology-extending departments and vegetable producers, and is short of scientific decision mechanism in pest management for farmers. Therefore, to establish integrative system of pest inspection and controlling, expedite channel of the information of pest prevention and controlling, scientific decision support system of pest management are the keys for sustainable control of the pests and keeping high quality and safe production of the vegetables.Under the guidance of software engineering, Decision Support System for the Management of the Vegetable Insect Pests in Jiangsu Province was established. Taking the professional knowledge of the personnel and the farmers into consideration, and integrating the correlative information of the management of the pests in vegetables, the Decision Support System is possessed of high visuality, facilitative operation and artificial intelligence.Aiming at effective control of vegetable pests in Jiangsu province, we summarized the rule of pests'occurrence in the past years, and then studied all the steps from finding pest, identifying the pest, analyzing the dynamic of the pest occurrence to controlling the pest.
