This research take the system engineering thought as instruction, apply the multi-disciplinary theory and the method, fully using the research data of the theory and technology of cotton cultivation, constructed the model of the soil moisture dynamic monitor and the irrigation forecast base on the TDR sensor gathering soil moisture information, constructed the dynamic knowledge model of the procreate process, the height dynamic change, the leaf area index and dry matter accumulation based on the cumulated thermal effectiveness, at the same time verify the model use the data of the different time, different place and the different variety. And with the aid of the system analysis principles and methods, according to the design ideas of software engineering modular, adjust the structure and consummate the function of the cotton field water management system.It has made the progress in these aspects: (1)It provided the real time guarantee for gather information by TDR sensor gather the soil moisture. (2)It provided the tool and the method of quantification for dynamic diagnosis of the seedling growth. (3)It established the certain theory and the practice foundation for the irrigation management automation realization through consummate the cotton field water management system.Because of the limited of the data, the forecast and general of the model need to test further, and the consummate work of the system need to continue in the practice.The 21st century, irrigation farming development main direction is the modernization, automation and the intellectualization.With the widespread of the information technology applied in agriculture, establish the intellectualized farmland water decision support system has bocame the inevitable trend of the development of the irrigation management. Research water management system integrate the information technology have the extremely important theory value and the practice significance, not only for realized the automate management of farmland water, but also for enhance the synthesis management level of the agricultural production system.
