A 6-wk trial was conducted to study the effects of urease inhibitor and anti-urease immunoglobulin Y on ascites in broilers under normal or stress condition with dietary T3 (1.5mg/kg). Two hundred and eighty-eight 1 day-old broiler were divided randomly into 8 treatments with 6 replicates of 6 broilers. Birds were assigned to a control or diets containing 120mg/kg urease inhibitor, or 100 or 200mg /kg anti-urease immunoglobulin Y in normal diet or diet with the addition of T3 .The heart index, incidence and mortality of ascites, performance, ammonia in plasma, intestinal, intestinal morphology and intestinal flora was determined. The results were as follows:(1) With the addition of 120mg/kg urease inhibitor under normal condition,42d ABW, F/G of 21-42 and 1-42 d were improved;B.bacterium of cecm at day 42 was increased compared to the control group. Under stress condition, AHI and incidence of ascites at day 21 and 42, mortality of ascites at 42 d were lowered compared to the control group. The levels of metabolic ammonia at day 21 and 42 were decreased, the large intestine ammonia at 42d were lowered significantly(P<0.05).The height of villus of ileum at day 21 and 42 were increased significantly(P<0.05),the depth of crypt of ileum at 21d were lowered very significantly(P<0.01).The intestinal flora at day 21 and 42 were improved,E.coli of cecum at 21 d were decreased(P<0.05).The ABW at day 21 and 42,F/G at 1-21 d, 21-42d or 1- 42d were increased.(2)With the addition of 200mg/kg egg powder under normal condition, 21d ABW, the height of villus of ileum at day 42,B.bacterium in the cecum at 42d were improved. Large intestine ammonia at day 21, muscularis thickness of ileum at 21d and jejunum at day 42,E.coil in the cecum at day 42 were decreased compared to the control group.
