Ecomat is a new kind of environmental covered material which is made of the abandoned palm. It could play an important role in restraining water, defending wind, solidifying send and changing the content of the soil nutrient if put the Ecomats in the surface of the forestations. The article conduct the comparative research from the soil water content, temperature and physical chemistry character between the Ecomat-covered and Ecomat-uncovered forestation.Compared with the Ecomat-uncovered soil, the water content is much higher in Ecomat-covered ones. The water content of loam 0-20com level and 20-40cm level are improved by 23.9% and 31.1% respectively, and they vary from 1.6% to 58.68% and from 13.88% to 89.35%. On the other hand, the water content of sand 0-20com level and 20-40cm level are improved by 23.5% and 10.8% respectively, and they vary from 5.19% to 86.70% and from 4.13% to 57.14%. They reach the high level obviously especially in spring, summer and autumn.Compared with the Ecomat-uncovered soil, Ecomat could increase the soil temperature and play a temperature-keeping role during November to next February when the atmosphere temperature is very low. However, it could also decrease the soil temperature and play a temperature-keeping role during March to August when the atmosphere temperature is very high. In addition, whatever in the high-temperature or in the low-temperature season, the difference in temperature of the Ecomat-covered soil is less than that of the Ecomat-uncovered, it may adjust the ground temperature well. Compared with the Ecomat-uncovered soil, the soil porosity of the loam and sand are enlarged obviously of the Ecomat-covered soil The cation exchange capacity increase but PH decline evidently. Soil organic matter and the content of soil total nitrogen are enhanced while the soil available phosphous is reduced. The soil available potassium is heighten much. Soil density and soil particle of the loam are decreased but those of the sand are increased.Compared with the Ecomat-uncovered soil, the soil respiration of the Ecomat-covered soil increase in spring, summer and winter while decrease in autumn, the amount of soil microble is higher than the Ecomat-uncovered soil.
