For a long time, to pursuit high-yiled crops, using large number of chemical fertilizer, resulting soil environment deterioration and quality of arable land declining. Biochar as a novel environment function material, due to it’s good soil improvement effect, increasing people attention it, has become a new research hotspot. Excellent physical and chemical property give biochar good performance of retain water and fertilizer. Biochar can improve soil water holding capacity effectivity, increase soil fertilizer and enhance crop yield. Therefore biochar application on agriculture is an important way to promote sustainable agiculture development. In order to explore improve effect of biochar for sandy loam and tomato response for biochar application, in this study, corn straw biochar as raw material, by setting different levels of biochar research biochar improve result for sandy loam, tomato growth and production respond for biochar application, soil water and fertilizer use efficiency, designed to provide a scientific basis for biochar large area use in the inner Mongolia, the mian finding results as follow:(1) Biochar can significant improve soil physical and chemical properties. Reducing soil bulk density, improve soil moisture, regulate soil temperature and significantly improve the soil permeability. The kind of indicators are showing good result when the biochar application rate is 40t/hm2. Meanwhile biochar could significantly increase the EC of sandy loam, but the soil pH value effect was not significant.(2) Biochar can effectively improve soil fertility and fertilizer the soil. Comparing to control group soil organic content increased 86.2%-202.9% in the different growth period, all available nutrients have increased accordingly.(3) Biochar can significantly promote the tomato growth, can increased the stem diameter and height of tomato. Meanwhile biochar play a good role of regulating tomato dry matter accumulation and distribution indifferent growth period will help to achieve production maximization, and significantly increase the tomato yield. Tomato yield reached maximum when the appilication rate is 40t/hm2, the largest increased is 56.1%.(4) Biochar can effectively improve the water and fertilizer use efficiency. Although biochar increases investment in some ways, along with the appilication of biochar production is also a substantial increase, far greater than the benefits arising from investment. By contrasting to other group the economic efficiency reached maximum when the appilication rate is 40t/hm2, increased 56.7%, and biochar can present soil a long time continue to be effective.In conclusion, biochar can improve soil structure effectively, enhance water and fertilizer use efficiency, accordingly promoting crop growth and increasing production, realization sustainable agriculture development of low-carbon, environment friendly and cycle really, and 40t/hm2 is the most appropriate application rate for loam.
