Nitogen is very important for crops to form yield ,but a great deal of nitrogen fertilizer used not only leads to environmental pollution but also makes nitrogen efficiency descend and the enhance of crop cost. One of the important reasons of content of nitrate which is higher than health standard is irrational use of nitrogenous fertilizer.At present green vegetable and pure vegetable are confronting descend of yield and quality because of lack of nitrogeous fertilizer .To solve the problem ,It is one of perfect accesses to choose high N efficiency cabbage inbred lines as breeding materials. The plant nitrogen efficiency is the adaptability of plant to soil nitrogen conditions in the long-term living process and is controlled by multiple genes .It has specific morphological, physiological and biological characteristics. 12 cabbage inbred lines was investigated to study difference of N efficiency at 3 N levels.the following is the summary of the results1.Significant difference was observed in N efficiency, which was manifested in the difference of physiological characteristics such as N uptake efficiency ,N physiological utilization efficiency etc,These differences was determined by gene(different inbred lines at the same N level) and mutual fuction between gene and environment the same inbred line at different N levels). But it was determined by gene fundamentally. N efficiency can be enhanced by breeding for cabbage.2.Correlitivity analysis between relative characters and N efficiency was found : the distinct positive relativity is between N efficiency and the root system activity in seedling stagejnitial stage of leaf ball at low nitrogen level (N1); The distinct positive relativity is between N efficiency and the root system activity in initial stage of leaf ball at middle N level(N2); The most distinct or distinct positive relativity is between N efficiency and the root system activity in seedling stage and initial stage of leaf ball at high N level (N3). The distinct positive relativity is between N efficiency and NRA in initial stage of leaf ball at middle N level (N2); The distinct or most distinct positive relativity is between N efficiency and NRA in seedling and lotiform stage at high N level (N3). The distinct positive relativity is between N efficiency and leaf size in seedling stage at all N levels . The distinct positive relativity is between N efficiency and leaf size in lotiform stage at low N level (N1).
