Compared with other water-saving irrigation technology, delivery and distribution pipe network systems have great effectiveness and developmental potentiality in improving the utilization of irrigation water, saving farmland, expanding irrigated area and tractor-plowing. In addition, irrigation pipeline networks can be applied flexibly, adjusted easily and controlled automatically, and can be applied to different terrain, crops and soil, ease for field management; water can be delivered quickly and irrigated efficiently using this systems. Pipeline networks will be an important trend for water-saving irrigation in the development of irrigation. Meanwhile, pipeline network systems are complex to design, need much more materials and equipment; its first-time investment is much higher. Seeking the optimum plan of pipe network with the higher irrigation quality, lower cost of investment and lower consumption of energy can produce great economy benefits using the optimal design theory, methods and tools.This paper considers the characteristic of irrigation network that have relation with irrigation working scheme and agrotype, take the working scheme of irrigation together with optimal design of irrigation pipe network. Different working scheme have different design discharge in delivery and distribution pipe of irrigation will influence the project investment. This paper studied optimal design of irrigation pipe network based on rotational irrigation method, proposed to take the plan of rotational arrange into account to optimize, discussed how to arrange the rotation plan, to reduce the investment and energy consumption and make the best use of the existence water resource. The results are as follows:1 This paper took the irrigation working scheme together with optimal design of irrigation pipe network, studied how to arrange the number of rotation to reduce the systems investment and energy consumption, and researched optimal design of irrigation pipe network based on rotational irrigation method.2 On the condition of pipe network with pump station, this paper calculated the designing discharge of net work and pipeline according different rotational arrange plan, counted the needed quantity of the water and pressure, optimized the diameters of pipe.
