Tissue Culture and improving quality of Impatient hawkeri Impatiens hawkeri, an evergreen perennial herbage, with long florescence and high ornamental value, has become a popular flower and widely used in china and the whole globe.In this paper, three parts of research was discussed, that is about virus elimination and costcutting in the process of tissue culture of Impatiens hawkeri. Firstly, three varieties of Impatiens hawkeri was cultivated on the Murashige and Skoog's medium supplemented with different kinds of hormones and nutriment, to set up plant regeneration system of each variety of Impatiens hawkeri. Secondly, by reason of the serious virus infection in Impatiens hawkeri, a virus elimination system has been founded via the method of meristem tip cultivation and the heat treatment. Thirdly, a few of research has been studied to reduce the cost in the culture container, kind of sugar, water in medium, photoperiod and so on. The result showed that, the best explant in tissue culture of Impatiens hawkeri is bud. Different varieties have different response to different hormones and concentration in the period of startup cultivation. The optimum bud inducing medium of No.1 of Impatiens hawker was MS+6-BA0.5mg/L. While the optimum bud inducing medium of No.2 of Impatiens hawker was MS+6-BA1.5mg/L. And the optimum bud inducing medium of No.3 of Impatiens hawker was MS+6-BA1.5mg/L+ NAA0.05mg/L.But in the period of subcultuvation, different varieties have the similar response to different hormones and concentration in medium. The best medium in plantlet transplant is vermiculite and perlite(l:l). The best subculture medium is MS+1.5mg/L 6-BA. If we use bottle of tin instead of glass bottle, white sugar instead of sucrose, at the same time reduce the sugar content to2%,and use tap water instead of distilled water could reduce the cost on the period of tissue culture. When the photoperiod is 12h/d, all of the plantlet take on great growing status. The best improve quality method was to culture meristem tip include three leaf primordium after the constant temperature treatment for twenty days. It was not only high in survival ratio, but also in growth situation.
