Status, Strategy And Industrialization Practice For Good Quality Rice Production In Guangxi

Rice is the most important food crop in GuangXi. It has been developed rapidly and the plant area has been expanded year by year in recent years. However, up to now, it has been still lower at intensification and extention level, and has not been self-sufficiented in Guangxi which resulting to Thailand scented rice cccupied larger market. Thus adjusting agricultural industry structure, strengthening the production of good quality rice,and accelerating its industrialization has been a prime task at the present stage for Guangxi.Based on the informations and documents from internet, consultation and investigation, the author analyzed the current situation of good quality rice production and industrialization at home and abroad, found out some problems, such as running short of fund and less company, and put forward some suggestions. These suggestions included in increasing area by production and industrialization demonstration base construction of good quality rice with market as guidance, allow many kinds of production model such as "company + base + peasant houshold" exist at the same time, bringing up large company and open up Guangxi good quality rice brand, and advancing industrialization through science and technology innovation.On the base of above research, the author carry out a project of industrialization of million acres good quality rice production in Guangxi with colleagues, and analysed its effects, main achievements, accumulated experiences and existing problems. The author pointed that the project applied creatively the production model of "company + science and technology + base + peasant houshold" and explored a new road of industrialization of good quality rice in which "to be breed, to be reproduced, to be experimented, to be popularized and to be marketed" were at one system from seed industry to rice industry and from planting industry to process industry. The project also applied a new management model in which science, industry, agriculture, trade were integrative, obtained the results of of scientific research, peasant houshold and company getting profits at the same time. These research and practice will give a scientific reference to good quality rice production and industrialization in Guangxi.
