In the paper,three Sedum were chosen as the materials for the researches of photosynthetic characteristics, light response characteristics, growth, photosynthetic variation, whole chlorophyl, soluble sugar and protein, relative conductivity, proline, leaf anatomy under different shading levels(0%,30%,50%,70%,92% of full sunlight), such as Sedum spurium 'Coccineum', Sedum spurium 'Purple Carpet' and Sedum reflexum 'Tripmadamt'. Sum those conclusion up, the writer find the scientific basis of landscape design of 3 Sedum.The adaptability of 3 Sedum cultivars is different. The order of illumination bound from wideness to narrowness: 'Purple Carpet'>'Tripmadamt'>'Coccineum'.1.Weakens gradually along with the strength of illumination, the water content of 3 Sedum cultivars leaves was increased, compared with the 3 sedum cultivars in every disposal find that: 'Purple Carpet'<'Tripmadamt'<'Coccineum'. The leaves was decreased, the degree that shade influnced3 Sedum cultivar range from small to big is: 'Purple Carpet'<'Tripmadamt'<'Coccineum'. After light intimidation, the growth of the next year well are originally 3 sedum cultivars under full light and originally 'Purple Carpet' under light intimidation.2.The leaves of 3 sedum cultivars mark off assiminative palisade parenchyma and storage water spongy parenchyma. Light intimidation influnced leaves tissue. Under full light the palisade parenchyma and storage water spongy parenchyma cells arranged compactness,the space between cells became bigger and bigger under light intimidation. The epidermic cell became smaller with decline of light strength.3. Total chlorophyll and Carotenoids increased on condition of shading. The chlorophylla/ b decreased on the condition of shading. Total chlorophyll of 'Purple Carpet' had the biggest range, is 52%, the chlorophylla/b decreased the biggist range, is 10.5%.'Purple Carpet' had the maximum down range of relative electronic conductivity rate under shading was 50%. The leaves' soluble sugar and protein of 3 plants were decreased with falling of the intensity of light. 'Coccineum' soluble sugar had the maximum down-range was 82.9%.4.Pn of 3 was increased with the falling of the intensity of light. Tr and Gs of'Coccineum' and 'Purple Carpet' reduced obviously under moderate shading. WUE of 'Purple Carpet' was increased obviously by shading.
