China with large population but shortage of land resources, increasing agricultural output depend on the improvement of yield, and the application of fertilizer to increase crop yield plays an important role. For a long time, China's rural serious blind fertilization, which not only increased the cost of agricultural production, but also caused serious environmental pollution, threatening the quality and safety of agricultural products, also impacting of further improving agricultural output. Long-term researching and production practices have proved that soil testing for Formulated fertilization is one of the important measures to fully use and protection of land resources, increase land productivity and achieve high quality farm.With full starting and constant deepening of soil testing for Formulated fertilization project, departments at all levels have invested a lot of manpower, and resources to carry out digital work on all kinds of information and data, all kinds of field survey data, different scale map information are rapidly increasing. Faced with a huge amount of diverse sources and the frequent changes in the information, the traditional mode of management has become increasingly obvious drawbacks, can not meet the needs of the times, it is more inevitable by using of advanced technologies for the collection, storage, processing, management, application, Analysis of information.In recent years, with geographic information systems technology, computer technology, database technology rapid development, the application of these technologies on agricultural production was increasingly widespread. Based on looking over a great deal of the relative literatures and information, taking Chongqing liangping as a study area, this research paper adopted the field investigation, chamber analysis, also collected various survey information and different scale geospatial data, then, the research built the testing soil for formulated fertilization information system in county area by using visual programming language and GIS secondary development platform. The establishment of system realized included display, query, analysis, management functions, also provided technical support and assistant decision information to extend recommended fertilizer. The main contents and achievements are listed as follows:(1) Analysised the problems of the present stage Soil testing for formulated fertilization technology and the development condition of recommend fertilization system at home and abroad, according to the actual needs of the region and integrated with the requirements of Soil testing for formulated fertilization technology, this research carried out a detailed system design, including system architecture design and system function module design. The general structure of system includes man-machine interface, databases, decision support, information access, model algorithm, etc. Design features include data information display module, information inquiry module, data management module, data analysis module, recommended fertilizer application module.(2) On the basis of the overall design of the system, designed and constructed the system database, System database include geospatial database and survey information database. According to the different nature of the data, the geospatial data can divide into graphic data and attribute data. The graphic data include: basic information, topographic data, landuse condition, soil types, soil nutrient data, soil sampling data, remote sensing data, climate information, as well as 3D virtual information. Taking into account the special topographical features in study area, this research brought forward a new method to organize the graphic data of topographical features, topography and land use based on three classes of regionalism, the scales of graphic data are 1:50,000, 1:10,000, 1:2,000, and others use 1:50,000. The main work to design attribute database is design data dictionary, including standarded the data item name, data type and data length, decimal places, etc. In response to the survey database, this research collected various survey information according to soil testing technical requirements, then, designed several data forms to manage the survey information. Based on the design of system database, this research seted up the geospatial database by using Geodatabase data model, seted up the survey information database by using ADO database access technology of Microsoft Access 2000.(3) Based on comparing of every development mode, the research built the testing soil for formulated fertilization information system in county area by using Visual Basic and ArcGIS Engine, this system can throw off the flat of specific software, so this can save developing cost for the system, also it can make the usage of system more simple and intuitional. Realized showing of plane data and 3D Data was integrated in a system; realized four ways to inquire the geospatial database, such as SQL query, Identify query; realized three ways to set layer display properties, such as labeling the layer; realized managing the data scientificly, object-oriented data model was used to manage the geospatial data, data forms were used to managing survey data; for field test data, also realized regression analysis functions, according to the analysis data, system can implement fertilizer recommendation.(4) On the basis of analyzing soil sampling data provided by the system, this study discussed overall situation of soil nutrients and soil nutrients spatial variability in study region. According to the analysis of the results and nutrient-grading standard of ASI, we educed an effective division on soil nutrient in study region. Analyzing the rice "3414" test on three soil types by using the regression analysis functions provided by the system, according to the results, we setted up fertilizer recommendation model correspondingly.
