The results of comprehensive investigations of soil ciliates in the National Nature Reserve of Xinglongshan mountain were reported in this paper. The investigations were carried out from November of 2005 to December of 2006. soil ciliates in the National Nature Reserve of Xinglongshan mountain were studied by Quantitative research and Qualitative research, using in vivo and direct counting methods. indentified species using living observations and Protrgol impregenation, and discussed the community characteristics of soil ciliates in the National Nature Reserve of Xinglongshan mountain . twelve soil samples were collected from the National Nature Reserve of Xinglongshan mountain, according to the types of plant communities:Rhododendron brush,Sea buckthorn,Grassland,Salix oritrepha brush,Rosa multiflora brush,Birch forest,Poplat forest,Berberis brush,Picea crassifolia forestry,Cotoneaster hjelmqvistii brush,Flos carvophvlli brush.Seventy species of soil ciliates belonging to three classes, eleven orders , thirty two families and forty two genera were identified. Three species as new domestic recorded species in soils, seven species as soil autochthonous species. sixteen incidetical species.fifteen species as ones with strong degree of soil autochthonism. The results showed that the species diversity of soil ciliates in the National Nature Reserve of Xinglongshan mountain was aboundance.The results of analyses on the frequencies of ciliates species in each sample of the National Nature Reserve of Xinglongshan Mountain showed that there were twenty species that were identified in more than 6 soil samples. It accounts for 24.7%. The frequencies of most of them were also high in other regins of domestic and foreign counties.The results of analyses on the dominant species of ciliates in the National Nature Reserve of Xinglongshan showed that Colpoda aspera, Colpoda cucullus, Colpoda inflata, Colpoda maupassi, Colpoda steinii, Cyrtolophosis acuta, Urosomoida agiliformis, Oxytricha minor, Cyrtolophosis elongata were the dominant species.The results of analyses on the dominant groups of ciliates in the National Nature Reserve of Xinglongshan showed that Hypotrichida, Colpodida and Prostomatida were the dominant groups. The species of these groups account for 65.3% of all species, in which Hypotrichida had the most specific numbers.The results of comparative studies on the similarity of species diversity between Xinglongshan and other regions of domestic showed that the community structure of ciliates in Xinglongshan was very different from the other regins of domestic.The results of analyses on the influence of abundance of soil ciliates environment factors showed that the influence of abundance of soil ciliates on the distribution of soil ciliates was the greatest than that of water content.
