Based on the analyses about our country vegetable productionsituation and Guangxi bean production situation, a seriesexperiments were conducted to develop a new bean cultivar,Nongkeyouqing 2 cowpea, and its cultivation technique andpopularization were studied. Nongkeyouqing 2 cowpea is developed bysystem selection from Yanshuanchunbao bean. Experiment resultsindicated that Nongkeyouqing 2 cowpea is provided with high yieldand quality, strong disease resistance. It was observed that itsfibre wasfew, moisture content was high, tastes was sweet and crisp.Its pod was light green, average fruit is 62 cm in length, 0.8~1.0cm in diameter, 32 g in weight, 27~30 t. hm-2 in yield; Nongkeyouqing2 cowpea was suitable for cultivating in YuLin City. Furthermore,we studied its high-yield cultivating technique, and summarized itshigh-yield cultivation measures. Film mulching should be practicedwhen it was planted in YuLin Cityin spring with the row spacing of30 centimetres or so. In summer and autumn, the suitable row spacingwas 20 centimetres or so; In spring and autumn, the highest yieldwere observed with base manure of 1050 kilograms organic inorganic fertilizer as SURESUNNY SS104·per hectare and dosages topdressingof 675 kilograms FinlandHefei Fertilizer per hectare. At the sametime, its popularization was practiced. The usual popularizationmethod were included participant way, from-top-to-bottom way,demonstration way, technique training and service, and so on.
