The people of Liao village of Long Ji lives on terraced field from generation to generation, they take the rice agriculture as to live. And they have created unique terraced field water conservation technology in the long-term co-existence process with nature. As one important part of the rice agriculture technology system, terraced field water conservation technology have produced tremendous influence on the community's environment ecology, the culture and so on. This article is just the study on the technology of terraced field water conservation and the culture of water conservation. And it is also very significant to do the research into the terraced field water conservation technology of Liao village from the view of history of science and technology and anthropology.Through field work, case study and ascertaining documents, the author explored the terraced field water conservation technology of Liao village, described in detail the irrigation technology of it, and find out that the terraced field water conservation technology is closely connected with the local unique ecological environment and culture factor. And the terraced field water conservation technology of Liao village of Long Ji explains the universe and the nature by its unique words system, expresses the local history and the society, and contains the essence of traditional culture. Moreover, according to the local economy situation that is relatively backward and the ecological condition, the author analyzed the possibility development of terraced field water conservation, and proposed some suggestions, this would have certain practice significance to Liao village of Long Ji.
