This paper, basing on forest type map, topography of nature resource and forest management sub compartment survey database of LiangShui Ntural Reserve, with the software application of ArcView3.2 and Arclnfo7.1, deals with each kind of database and graph, makes the classified landscape type maps. On the platform of GIS and FragStats calculates the index of landscape pattern. Comparing the dynamics of the indexes of three periods, systematically analyses the dynamic of the landscape spatial structure of LiangShui Natural Reserve. In ways of principal analyses, the index system for evaluating the rank of protecting firstly has formed. In combination with the main principles for landscape ecological planning and the results above, the conclusion of the dynamics of landscape heterogeneity and the results of planning are as follows:The matrix of LiangShui Natural Reserve is forest. The area percentage of forest in 1974, 1989 and 1999 is gradually increasing. So, the forest has a controlling effect on the dynamics of landscape pattern. The area percentage of natural forest is above 85ï¼…, and the percentage of plantation is about 15ï¼…. From 1974 to 1999, in contrast with other forest landscape elements, the area of Korean pine is bigger, and its dominated index is higher, so the Korean pine landscape element has an important effect on the function and structure of forest landscape. The mean size of each landscape elements is expanding, and the number of patches is reducing. It indicates that the forest will be more even in a long term. With regard to LiangShui Natural Reserve especially, the study applied with the forest landscape internal index, analyses the dynamics of forest landscape, and the result implies that the age of the Korean pine, coniferous mixed forest and coniferous-hardwood mixed forest landscape elements are older, and the age structure of Korean pine landscape element has a diversity.Considering the real situation of the studied area, as well as the analyses of the dynamics of forest landscape element, the paper applies with the index such as the size of landscape patches, ecological factors, the abundance of forest resources and so on, builds the index system for appraising the principal protecting order of forest patches. And then, in combination of the biological diversity and the forest type diversity maximal covering, the planning scheme has made. As the scheme showed, the LiangShui Natural Reserve is divided into different planning area, and different measures will be executed in order to realize the sustainable development of the forest landscape in the studied area.
