Effects Of Thinning Intensities On Landscape Qualities Of Suburb Ecological Landscape Forest

In recent years, due to the rising of living standard and spare time increase, the demand for forest recreation increase as well. Because a lot of forest parks in China are transformed from state-owned forest farms, the landscape value and ecological function of urban forest are restrained. Therefore, how to improve the landscape quality and ecological function of ecological landscape forest is an urgent research topic.Here in the paper taking Nanjing Wuxiangsi National Forestry Park as subject, we selected 5 main stand types to carry out trials of 4 intensities, and studied the effects of different thinning intensities on stand spatial structure, species diversity of undergrowth layer and landscape quality. The main results are as follows:(1) 8 site types in Nanjing Wuxiangsi National Forest Park could be classified, including thin soil layer of medium gravel content of thick fall, medium soil layer of low gravel content of thick fall, medium soil layer of high gravel content of medium fall and so on.(2) The decrease order of the species diversity is broadleaved mixed forest, mixed conifer and broadleaved forest, pure forest.(3) Thinning can effectively optimize the stand spatial structure. The average mingling and opening degree of stands is improved relatively after thinning, the higher the intensity, the bigger the increases. Neighborhood Interference Index is decreased obviously after thinning. When highest-intensity thinning measures are taken, the growth of"target tree"is not restricted by the interference of neighborhood, its restraining factors being genetic factor and site quality. Starting from short-term effects, the species diversity of stands could be improved significantly by higher intensity.(4) The landscape quality of stands can be greatly improved by thinning. The scenic beauty values do not have significant difference between the stands of before thinning and the control areas, and the SBE can be greatly improved by high-intensity thinning measure.
