| Selenium is one of essential trace elements for animals, which have someimportant biological functions, such as the antioxidation, the enhancement of immunefunction, the influence on the animal growth performance and so on. This researchevaluated the nutritional and Pharmacological value of Se-enriched Red Clover whichis a new botanic organic selenium source, studied the effect of bacteriostasisexperiment in vitro of it in contrast to that of ordinary Red Clover, and studied thephysiological functions and its mechanisms of se-enriched Red Clover and Na2SeO3contrastively, got the following results:1 Evaluation of the nutritional and Pharmacological valueDuring the best mowing period, the content of crude protein in abovegroundplant of Se-enriched Red Clover which are higher than that of ordinary Red Cloverextremely significantly is 19.15%, and the total content of Red clover isoflavones is2.14%, it is significantly higher than that of ordinary Red Clover isoflavones; thecontent of Se is up to 12.064 mg/kg, and the content of organic selenium in totalselenium is 85.73%. It is obvious that Se-enriched Red Clover is a valuable botanicsource of organic selenium which has higher nutritional and Pharmacological valuethan ordinary Red Clover.2 Effects of bacteriostasis experiment in vitroThe MIC in vitro of Se-enriched Red Clover to pig Escherichia coli andSalmonella were 0.7% and 0.5% respectivly, and that of ordinary Red Clover toEscherichia coli and Salmonella were 1.0% and 0.7% respectivly. It notes that theeffects of bacteriostasis experiment in vitro can be improved when the Red Cloverwere Se-enriched.3 Studies on physiological function①Adding Se-enriched Red Clover and Na2SeO3 can optimize general signs ofmice and enhance the growth performance significantly by the dose of 0.1~0.3 mg/kgselenium level added to feed, and the effect of the former is better than that of thelatter. 0.3mg/kg selenium level is the best level of Se-enriched Red Clover accordingto the raise of growth performance and the conversion rate perspective of feed.②Appropriate selenium level added to feed of Se-enriched Red Clover andNa2SeO3 can enhance the activity of GSH-Px & SOD and decrease the content ofMDA in serum and liver tissue of mice significantly, which show the effect Of astrong antioxidant. 0.3 mg/kg selenium level added to feed is the best level ofantioxidation for Se-enriched Red Clover.③Se-enriched Red Clover can enhance immune function of mice. Theregulations of immune organ weight changes by different levels of selenium added tofeed is similar to that of antioxidationt, but it is not different to Na2SeO3 significantly. |
