In this paper, two cameras are used to make easy machine vision system.takepictures of stock from top and side,using computer image processing technologycarrying a series of punishments on the two pictures.Comparing with all sorts of picturesegmenting arithmetic,using color threshholding algorithm to segment the object frombackground by color difference. This article using a geometrical algorithm method tosearch for the growing point of stock seedlings, and develops an arithmetic forautomatically recognize cotyledon's direction and test of growing point's height,thesystem is programmed with Visual Basic 6.0.A mechanism is designed and made for automatic orientation and cutting of stockseedlings.Pro-E,one of the three -dimensional CAD software,is used to do themechanism design in the whole mechanism's design,so the design efficiency isimproved.After the function analysis of the mechansism,The servomotor is used tocontrol the circumgyrating of the stock seedling,and a stepping motor is used to controlthe lifting of the stock seedling.Besides,a MCU control system is developed,detailedresearch is done to the hardware and the software of the control system.and thecorresponding control program is compiled, and it controls the execution mechanism tocarry stock seedling to the right cutting location according to the test result of thecomputer. in the end, it controls servomotor to a rotary cutting.Experiments show that the system runs very well and achieves the anticipative aimbasically.The article takes primary research about the problem of stock seedling automaticorientation and cutting in the vegetable automation grafting process.which is importantto improving the automation degree of grafting.
