On purpose to study effect of Chinese herbs additives on growthperformance, serum biochemical parameters, material metabolic rate of nutrients, slaughter performance and melanin pigmentation of sichuan bone-black chicken,384sichuan bone-black chicken(age in 1 day) were divided into eight groupsrandomly.Every group included four replicates, each replicate with twelvebirds.Chinese herb medicine additivesⅠandⅡwere added in 0.6%,1.2%,1.8% to dietrespectively during the 56 day.The result indicated that:1.The growth performance of sichuan bone-black chicken was improved byChinese herb medicine additives and the chlortetracycline(CTC) respectively. Incontrast to the CTC group, Chinese herb medicine additivesⅠ0.6%,Ⅱ0.6%increased 5.31%,6.76% the average daily gain(ADG) respectively in the 0-4 weeks;Chinese herb medicine additivesⅠ0.6%,Ⅱ0.6% increased 7.21% (P<0.05),6.74%ADG respectively in the 5-8 weeks; Chinese herb medicine additivesⅠ0.6%,Ⅱ0.6%increased 6.87% (P<0.05),6.28% the average daily gain(ADG) respectively in the alltrial stage(0-8 weeks). In the 0-4 weeks, average daily feed intake(ADFI) of theChinese herb medicine were no significantly difference among other treatments.5-8weeks and 0-8 weeks, Chinese herb medicine additivesⅠ0.6% had the greatestADFI,secondly is Chinese herb medicine additivesⅡ0.6%,and ADFI was no significantdifference among the treatments.F/G of Chinese herb medicine additivesⅠ0.6%,Ⅱ0.6%was reduced by 2.56%,6.15% (P<0.05) compared with the CTC group respectivelyduring the 0-4 weeks; In the 5-8 weeks F/G was reduced by 1.56%,0.33% (P<0.05)compared with the CTC group respectively; In the 0-8 weeks F/G was reduced by2.11%,1.69% (P<0.05) compared with the CTC group respectively. The resultsshowed that the better increased ADG and improved feed conversion were Chinese herb medicine additivesⅠ0.6%,Ⅱ0.6% and the CTC group.2.The chinese herb medicine additives was increased content of TP andALB,reduced content of BUN and TG,and there were no significant differences on thecontent of TP,ALB,BUN,TG and ALT during the every treatments.3.In contrast to the control and the CTC group, the metabolic rate of CP of chineseherb medicine additivesⅠ0.6%,Ⅱ0.6% increased 11.89%,7.97% and 9.84%,5.98%respectively;the metabolic rate of ME of chinese herb medicine additivesⅠ0.6%,Ⅱ0.6% increased 2.22%,1.71% and 0.65%,0.15% respectively;there were nosignificant differences on the metabolic rate of DM among the every treatments.4.In contrast to the CTC,the percentage of breast of chinese herb medicineadditivesⅠ0.6%,Ⅱ0.6% were increased 5.79%,4.67% and 5.27% respectively. Incontrast to the CTC group, the percentage of gam of chinese herb medicine additivesⅠ0.6%,Ⅱ0.6% increased 3.96%,5.77% respectively, the percentage of abdominal fatwas decreased by 26.43%,37.14%.5.The chinese herb medicine additives increased melanin pigmentation in skin, muscle, viscera and shank(periosteum). chinese herb medicine additivesⅠ0.6%,Ⅱ0.6%were significantly increased content of melanin in ski (P<0.05) n, in contrast to thecontrol and the CTC group. Chinese herb medicine additivesⅡ1.8% had the greatestcontent of melanin in skin shank(periosteum), the control and the CTC group had lesscontent of melanin in skin shank(periosteum) in every Chinese herb medicine additivestreatments (P<0.01).There were no significant difference in content of melanin inmuscle and viscera. These results indicate that the growth performance and slaughter performance ofsichuan bone-black chicken, and chinese herb medicine additivesⅡ0.6% had bettereffect on the growth performance in the 0-4weeks, chinese herb medicine additivesⅠ0.6%had better effect on the growth performance in the 5-8weeks.Take the growthperformance and melanin pigmentation into account, the best was chinese herbmedicine additivesⅠ0.6%.
