Cottonseed meal is a floristic protein resource, which nutrient value is even better than other cereal protein. Because of the venomous component, the cottonseed meal is controlled in the application for feed and edible. The Free Gossypol has active units, so the toxicity is serious, when the animal feeded by excessive Free Gossypol, its body will be harmed seriously. At the sametime, it also remains in the livestock product to harm humans' health.The traditional detoxification methods more or less have disadvantages to baffle the use in feed, so it is necessary to explore new method. Based on the mechanochemistry effect, the research attempts to find a better method to detoxification. Through two methods(high-speed comminution and ball-milling) to micronize the cottonseed meal, then taking the micronizing time, moisture content and additive ferrous sulfate proportion as factors, micronized cottonseed meal's granularity and content of Free Gossypol as indexes to research the influences of factors on indexes, respectively.It is measured and analyzed the granularity through the Winner3001 powder laser particle sizer, the results indicate that micronizing time and moisture content affected the granularity heavily, the longer the micronizing time, the smaller the median diameter. But when the time is long enough, the diameter is no longer changed; The more the moisture content, the worse the influence on comminuting, the initial stage of micronization, the granularity of cottonseed with different moisture content are discrepant largely, but with the increase of micronizating time, the discrepancy become less and less, that is, the influence of moisture content is weakened.The content of Free Gossypol is measured by GB 13086-91. The results show that the content of Free Gossypol is affected by moisture content and micronizating time. Some moisture in cottonseed is advantageous to detoxicate the Free Gossypol. The more the micronizating time, the better the effect. When added the ferrous sulfate, the content of Free Gossypol is decreased heavily, so it can be concluded that under the mechanical action, iron hydronium and active units of Free Gossypol occurred chemical reaction.In conclusion, the mechanochemistry effect is occoured in the processing of cottonseed meal micronization. Two optimized detoxification conditions are obtained by orthogonal experiments, respectively.
