The area of Enshi is suitable for planting podocarpus macrophyllus. Podocarpusmacrophyllus is rare tree for gardens virescence as well as good material for bonsai fans.Podocarpus macrophyllus has the characteristics of primitive simplicity and vigorousnessas pine tree and verdancy as cypress. It has been principal tree species for bonsai in Enshiarea.In order to meet the requirement of pile seedling of podocarpus macrophyllus forbonsai industrialization, this thesis studies the cutting propagation of podocarpusmacrophyllus. The experiment deals with greenwood cuttings and hardwood cuttings byusing different hormones, consistencies, parts and time. And water CK has been set.The conclusions are as following:(1) The treatments with different consistencies and hormones affect observably thecells appearing date, cicatrizing date and rooting date of the cuttings. The treatment with200mg/kg IBA has the shortest cells appearing date, cicatrizing date and rooting date(6days, 12 days, 10 days less than CK respectively). And it has the highest rooting ratio(33.3% higher than CK). It also has the most number of rooting and the longest rootlength (1.3 branch more than CK and 1.6cm longer than CK). Therefore, the treatmentwith 200mg/kg IBA has the best effect on hardwood cutting for promote rooting. Thesecond one is the treatment with 200mg/kg ABT1, NAA.(2) It is shown that the ratio and number of rooting and the length of root ofgreenwood cutting are better than those of hardwood cutting. Therefor, podocarpusmacrophyllus is suit for greenwood cutting.(3) It is shown from the different parts of cutting that the rooting ratio of the middlepart of cutting is higher than that of lower part remarkably. The cicatrizing date androoting date of middle part are shorter than those of lower part remarkably. The number ofrooting and the length of root of the middle part are better than those of lower partmarkedly. Making a comprehensive survey on various indexes, the cutting of middle parthas the best effect. The highest rooting ratio of greenwood cutting is at middle part and itis 73.0%. It is quite different from those of upper part and lower part. The upper part ofcutting has the shortest rooting date and lower part of cutting has the most rooting numberand the longest root length.(4)Observation has been made of various treatments based on different dipping time,it is concluded that dipped 2 hours is the best, among which the rooting ratio ofgreenwood cutting is the highest, 57.8%,17.8% higher than CK,but little difference is found compared with dipped 4 hours.In addition, the research and discussion on the podocarpus macrophyllus cuttingseedlings for potted-trees set the basis for future potted landscape industrialization.
