To explore the influence of shading and water stress on the growth and physiologicalcharacteristics of Hemerocallis middendorffii, this experiment, taking T1, T2 and T3 thesethree different sources of Hemerocallis middendorffii as specimens and with the pot-plantingmethod, sets four kinds of light transmittance treatments (100%, 45%, 15% and 5%) and sixwater stress conditions (100%, 75%, 55%, 40%, 30% and 24%) respectively and analyzes thegrowing features, biological quantity, photosynthetic characteristics and the principalbiochemical index of the plants under the conditions of different shading and water stress. And the experiment further appraises the drought-resistance and shade-tolerance ofHemerocallis middendorffii and tries to provide theoretical evidence for its application andspread. The findings of the experiment are as follows:1. The three specimens grow the best with the 40% light transmittance rate, and theirphotosynthetic rate (Pn) is also the biggest. The photosynthetic rates' (Pn) diagrams of diurnalvariation are double-modal. The light compensation point of these three kinds ofHemerocallis middendorffii is lower and they have stronger shade tolerance.2. The light transmittance rate is inversely connected with chlorophyll, and positivelyconnected with the content of Pro and soluble sugar. The relationship among the three isT1>T3>T2.3. Under arid coercion, the growing features of these three specimens, in general, are lower bycomparison. T1 has stronger adjustability against arid than T2 and T3; the photosyntheticrates' (Pn) diagrams of diurnal variation of all these three kinds of Hemerocallis middendorffiiare double-modal. T1 has the highest photosynthetic rate and T2 the lowest.4. With the increase of arid coercion, the activeness of chlorophyll, proline (Pro), the solubleprotein, peroxide enzyme (POD) and catalase (CAT) of these three specimens reduce, whilethe relative penetrability of cell membrane and MDA increase. And the drought-resistantabilities are like this: T1>T3>T2.5. The water-holding capacity of exsomatize blades is T1>T3>T2, but the retention ability hasa reverse correlation with this rate. With the absolute soil moisture reaching 7.76%,10.54%,8.69%, T1,T2 and T3 these plants can still grow normally. The drought-tolerance abilities arefrom large to small T1>T3>T2; in high-point condition of plants, the amount of waterconsuming is T2>T3>T1...
