Eupatorium adenophorum Spreng is a kind of perennial herbaceous plant with strongpropagation ability, which was derived from Mexico and was brought into China via theborder of Yunnan province. At present, Eupatorium adenophorum Spreng grows all overYunnan and constantly spreading to the north. It has cause serious harm to the farming, forestry, pasturing and other side-effects because of its destructive effects on theecological environment. There are many reports about the Eupatorium adenophorum Spreng, however, mostof which are about its biological characteristics, its harm to the ecosystem and biodiversity, and the control measures, while there are some researches refering to its chemicalcomponent, from which sesquiterpene,β-rhamno, stigmasterol, taraxasterol, cetylate andso on are separated, and needs more researches about its biological activities on chemicalcomponents. In this paper, on the basis of a preliminary understanding of that the extractethanol of E.adenophorum Spreng did well in inhibiting Phytophthora infestans (Mont.)de Bary, The antimicrobially active ingredient of Eupatorium adenophorum Spreng waspurified and separatd by means of silica column chromatography, thin layerchromatography and so on. Furthermore, In order to study the application of Eupatoriumadenophorum Spreng value, Preparation of Eupatorium adenophorum Sprengfermentation broth under different conditions, and comparasion of its antimicrobial effecton Phytophthora infestans (Mont.) were carried out, after having comfirmed the effevtivesubtance and character, the resulets are shown as follows:1. Excogitated a suitable extraction and separation means for the antimicrobialeffective substance of Eupatorium adenophorum Spreng. After gradely extractingethanol leaching of Eupatorium adenophorum with ligroin, chloroform, ethylacetate, n-butyl alcohol, separation means such as silica gel column chromatography, crystallization, recrystallization and so on were adopted, resulting in a satisfyingextraction and purfication effect, and the active substance were obtained.2. Identified the active antimicrobial substance of Eupatorium adenophorum Spreng. Many means such as IR, 1H-NMR,13C-NMR, MS and so on were adopted to identify active substance, It proved that it was a suite of long-chain saturates fatty acids that composed oflignoceric acid(molecular weight is 368), hexacosanic aci(molecular weight is396),octacosanoic acid(molecular weight is 424),triacontanoic acid(molecular weight is452) and lacceroic acid(molecular weight is 480).3. Moderated conditions for the fermentation broth from Eupatorium adenophorumSpreng inhibiting Phytophthora infestans (Mont.) de Bary Tests on the antimicrobialeffect on Phytophthora infestans (Mont.) de Bary of cultivar atlantic with fermentationbroth showed that antimicrobial effect was good to Phytophthora infestans (Mont.) deBary from isolated leaves and the whole plant, the best conditions for the antimicrobialeffect were screened The result was the fermentation time was 75d ,the temperature was25, and the concentration of fermentation broth was 50%.
